Carrie Waldron

Office Manager

     Carrie has been with the Waukon Veterinary Service since 2003. Starting off as a technician, she has been the clinic manager since 2014. She really enjoys working through emergency situations, training newer employees, and making everyone realize their importance of being a part of the WVS family. She lives outside of town on acreage with her husband, Brady, and their two children, Willow and River.  Also living with them is a variety of critters including 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 horses.

Dale Urell

Large Animal Assistant

     As the large animal assistant, Dale plays a major role at the Waukon Veterinary Service.  He is often the backbone of the large animal calls, assisting the doctors with his years of experience.  He started in 2003, and he has helped mold this establishment from teaching how to tie knots to assisting in surgeries, sharing his wealth of knowledge or BS.

Karly Hemmersbach

Veterinary Assistant

Karly Hemmersbach joined the team in February of 2021 as our large & small animal assistant. Karly attended NICC for Dairy Science Technology & graduated with an associate's degree. Karly has experience with pigs (nurseries & wean to finish), Beef Feedlots, Stock Cows, & Crop Farming. Karly lives in rural Waukon with her significant other, Tyler Ronan and their Aussie's Cooper, Dixie, Bella, & Roxi. Karly is our Clinic Comedian & enjoys getting a laugh out of everyone. In her free time, she likes to spend it with family, friends, & doing anything outside especially on the farm.

Samantha Larkin

Veterinary Technician

     Samantha Larkin started here at WVS as a veterinary technician in February 2019 & is loving being back home & working with all sorts of animals. You can see her here in the office with the cats & dogs or maybe helping with the large animal calls on your farm! She graduated Iowa State with an animal science degree in 2016 then NICC's Large Animal Veterinary Technician Program in 2018. Outside of work she enjoys doing almost anything outside & being with family & friends. At home she lives with her husband, Sean, his son Jonah, their kids Charlotte, Alaina & Jamison and 3 of Saint Bernards.

Cierra Weipert

Veterinary Technician

  Cierra joined the WVS team as a veterinarian technician in June of 2021 after graduating from DMACC's Veterinary Technology program in May of 2021. She passed her state exam the end of 2021 then passed the national exam the beginning of 2022 to become a certified vet tech in Iowa. She enjoys working with all animals but her main interests are dogs and horses. She lives in Farmersburg, IA with her two dogs, "Dutch," a cocker spaniel mix, "Toby" a bichon frise and "Sabastian," a husky mix, along with some cats. She also has three horses. Her hobbies include motorcycle rides, horseback riding and spending time with her animals, family and friends.

Tara Reinhardt

Veterinary Technician

Tara was born and raised in Waukon. She grew up working on a dairy farm and graduated from Waukon High School in 2001. Shortly after high school Tara married her high school sweetheart Kevin. For the next 20 years the Reinhardt’s would be a military family, moving around the United States to a variety of duty stations. Tara’s husband recently retired from United States Army, he now works for the Allamakee County Sheriffs Office. Kevin and Tara have three children, two dogs and two cats. Tara has a Bachelors Degree from Kansas State University and a Veterinary Technology Degree from Northern Virginia Community College. For the past 10 years she has worked as a Veterinary Assistant and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Tara loves all creatures, big and small, and is passionate about caring for animals. She is excited to be back in her hometown. She joined the Waukon Veterinary Service team in June 2022.

Joan Anderson

Receptionist

     Joan has been a part of WVS since January 2008. Joan grew up on a dairy farm and had a registered Holstein herd with her husband of 39 years, Scott up until 2006. She is often the smiling face you first see when you come in the door. She handles much of the paperwork that comes along with a clinic and thoroughly enjoys visiting with our large and small animal clients, helping them find their answers. When not at work, Joan enjoys being a full-time grandma to three sweet granddaughters and three wild little boys, traveling with family, sewing, and supporting Iowa State and the Cubs whenever she can.

Jenny Jahnke

Receptionist

     Jenny joined the team in March 2019. She lives in rural Dorchester with her significant other and best friend, Josh. She has two amazing daughters and sons-in-law, Brookelyn and Taylor and Nichole and Eric. Jenny also has two adorable granddaughters, Haven & Natalie and two precious grandsons, Evan & Aiden.  She loves spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, camping, horseback riding,  ATV riding & traveling.
