Carrie has been with the Waukon Veterinary Service since 2003. Starting off as a technician, she has been the clinic manager since 2014. She really enjoys working through emergency situations, training newer employees, and making everyone realize their importance of being a part of the WVS family. She lives outside of town on acreage with her husband, Brady, and their two children, Willow and River. Also living with them is a variety of critters including 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 horses.
Large Animal Assistant
As the large animal assistant, Dale plays a major role at the Waukon Veterinary Service. He is often the backbone of the large animal calls, assisting the doctors with his years of experience. He started in 2003, and he has helped mold this establishment from teaching how to tie knots to assisting in surgeries, sharing his wealth of knowledge or BS.
Samantha Larkin started here at WVS as a veterinary technician in February 2019 & is loving being back home & working with all sorts of animals. You can see her here in the office with the cats & dogs or maybe helping with the large animal calls on your farm! She graduated Iowa State with an animal science degree in 2016 then NICC's Large Animal Veterinary Technician Program in 2018. Outside of work she enjoys doing almost anything outside & being with family & friends. At home she lives with her husband, Sean, his 7-year-old son, Jonah, their newborn daughter, Charlotte, 3 Saint Bernards (2 with her & 1 at her dad's) & 2 horses.
Joan has been a part of WVS since January 2008. Joan grew up on a dairy farm and had a registered Holstein herd with her husband of 39 years, Scott up until 2006. She is often the smiling face you first see when you come in the door. She handles much of the paperwork that comes along with a clinic and thoroughly enjoys visiting with our large and small animal clients, helping them find their answers. When not at work, Joan enjoys being a full-time grandma to two sweet granddaughters and three wild little boys, traveling with family, sewing, and supporting Iowa State and the Cubs whenever she can.
